Kerry Keeps Lying About a Bush Draft

October 16, 2004

Fox News Reports this morning that once again, the irrepressible (until the election) John Kerry said Friday, there is a “great potential for a new military draft to replace overextended U.S. troops in Iraq if President Bush wins a second term.” Is this not amazing in light of: a) Bush’s repeated denials; b) the GOP’s legislative smack down of a Democrat initiative to launch a draft; and c) John Kerry promising to add additional troop divisions himself because our troop levels in Iraq are too low?

These Kerry people have even graduated the dirty tricks of the Clinton campaign, though admittedly they are being helped, if not commandeered, by Clintonites. But we see a recurring trend here. The Kerryites not only commit the litany of dirty tricks against the Bush campaign, lying through their teeth every other time they open their mouths, but they now invent things that Bush stands for and then denounce him for them.

Sure, every candidate is fair game for criticism as to those things he stands for. But Kerry keeps accusing Bush of standing for things he opposes, like a draft, and of doing things he is not doing, like suppressing the black votes. These people are playing very dirty.

I came across these interesting gems of wisdom from Proverbs this morning: “Telling lies about others is as harmful as hitting them with an ax, wounding them with a sword, or shooting them with a sharp arrow.”  “Putting confidence in an unreliable person is like chewing with a toothache or walking on a broken foot.” Proverbs: 25:18-19.
