Drudge Exclusive on Dubyah’s Campaign Strategy

October 13, 2004

Matt Drudge reports that in next Sunday’s New York Times a controversial quote will be attributed to President Bush. The quote:

I’M GOING TO BE REAL POSITIVE, WHILE I KEEP MY FOOT ON JOHN KERRY’S THROAT.
This quote, according to Drudge, “has ignited prepublication sparks.”

My fervent hope is that President Bush did make this statement and that when asked to apologize, he refuse and repeat it with even more passion. This is an innocuous, figurative statement that is far from being in poor taste. Indeed, it’s exactly what President Bush should be doing in the debates and in the campaign in general. If metro-sexual John Kerry and his metro-sexual enablers think it’s too masculine or aggressive, we simply have more reason to question Kerry’s Purple Hearts. If they want to treat President Bush like a gunslinging cowboy, at least they ought to let him speak like one. Don’t you think that’s only fair? And, what do they want — he did promise to be positive, after all. Go Dubyah!
