A Depressing Scenario

January 20, 2005

MSNBC discusses a possible terrorist attack on Inauguration Day targeted at all three branches of government simultaneously, presidential succession issues, and other such unthinkables.

While I’ll concede that this is within the realm of possibility, what needs to be said much more than it is, is that many people are doing something very right on national security matters. While I’m very concerned about our open-borders and illegal immigration policies, the intelligence agencies and others deserve serious credit for having prevented a major attack on American soil following 9/11. Sure, another attack is inevitable, but that doesn’t change the fact that we’ve been attack free for more than three years and it isn’t because our enemies have begun to like us. Rarely do the good guys get the credit they deserve. Here’s praying for a safe inauguration week.
