There They Go Again

December 16, 2004

I have tried not to overload you with yet more stories lately about all the Christian bashing going on during this Christmas season. But it just seems like something outrageous occurs everyday. Here’s a story from the Toledo Blade about a public high school canceling the performance of a Christian rock band because there were concerns over religious music being played at a public school. How can the most ardent secularist fear that merely allowing a Christian band to play on school property violates the Constitution? How can they not recognize that a violent allergy exists in our society to Christianity in the public square? I’m sure any other groups can play, but those oriented toward Christianity or Christian music are shut out — discriminated against, as if by merely allowing them equal access to the school to play their music the school, and thus the government, is endorsing the content of their songs. This is getting increasingly pathetic.
