President Appoints Kerik to Replace Ridge

December 3, 2004

Bernie Kerik

President Bush has nominated former NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik to replace Tom Ridge as Homeland Security Secretary. If you’ve ever seen Kerik on Hannity and Colmes, or elsewhere, you’ll know that he’s a smart, tough veteran cop with broad knowledge of law enforcement and counter-terrorism related issues. With this decision, coupled with the president’s retention of Secretary Rumsfeld, I think we can safely say that President Bush is signaling that he’s in no appeasement mode concerning the War on Terror. Good move by Dubya.
