Michael Moore Calls GOP 'Abusers'
Michael Moore takes his party to the woodshed in this piece, telling them they need to quit apologizing and trying to figure out what they did wrong. They almost won this time, despite running a poor campaign, and the country is moving to the left. So there's nothing to worry about. They need to realize that they did nothing wrong. Rather, they are victims of abuse.
If you didn't think this baseball cap dominated joker was touched before, read his words:
They beat us because they are abusers. We can call it hate. We can call it fear. We can say it is unfair. But we are looped into the cycle of violence, and we need to start calling the dominating side what they are: abusive. And we need to recognize that we are the victims of verbal, mental, and even, in the case of Iraq, physical violence.And what is Moore's prescription for this malady?
He says:
You find other folks like yourself, 57 million of them, who are hurting, broken, and beating themselves up. You tell them what you've learned, and that you aren't going to take it anymore. You stand tall, with 57 million people at your side and behind you, and you look right into the eyes of the abuser and you tell him to go to hell. Then you walk out the door, taking the kids and gays and minorities with you, and you start a new life. The new life is hard. But it's better than the abuse.And here's more from the guy who apparently defines "abuse" as being continually trounced at the polling places:
Any battered woman in America, any oppressed person around the globe who has defied her oppressor will tell you this: There is nothing wrong with you. You are in good company. You are safe. You are not alone. You are strong. You must change only one thing: Stop responding to the abuser.And this lunatic likens the defeated party to oppressed people throughout history:
We have the mandate of the world to back us, and the legacy of oppressed people throughout history.It's truly hard to believe that this windbag is successful in any field of endeavor. Why aren't he and Maureen Dowd dating, anyway? Perhaps because they're both too busy unwittingly participating in a contest to see which liberal commentator can appear the silliest. But they'd be compatible to the extent that neither is apparently capable of embarrassment or understanding when he/she has consummately humiliated himself/herself. I'd feel sorry for both of them except they are both too busy engaging in destructive behavior to warrant our sympathy.
But given that there is an obvious intramural battle taking place in the Democratic Party, it will be interesting to see which side prevails. In this piece Michael Moore demeans and belittles the more centrist Democratic Leadership Council headed by Al From, painting them as right wingers. Will the party gravitate behind Michael Moore, or revert to the Clinton-oriented Democratic Leadership Council. I guess one way to analyze this is to say that the Democrats' future will depend on whether it goes with Michael Moore or rejects him. But as I've asked before, how can it truly reject him when an easy majority of its constituents are easily closer to Moore than Al From?
And another interesting thing to watch for is whether anyone in the Democratic Party will have the guts to call Moore to the carpet for his maniacal, extreme, divisive, paranoid, hysterical ravings. And if they do, what kind of reception will they get? Perhaps we'll soon see.
